Lab overview
Prof. Qiu was Guoqiang Endowed Chair Professor of Optical Engineering of Westlake University. He was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2015, a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and a Fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) in 2013. He is currently leading a project on solar thermal energy utilization through the National Key Research and Development Program of China (No. 2017YFA0205700). He is an Editor of Optics Communications (Elsevier), a Topical Editor of Light: Science and Applications (Nature publishing group), and an Associate Editor of Science Bulletin (Science China Press).
Prof. Qiu's group are dedicated in exploring the fundamental rules of the light-matter interactions in the nanometer scales and their state-of-art applications in nanophotonic and optic fields. Our research interest mainly includes:
(1) Micro/nano fabrication technologies and instrumentation (ice lithography, Femtosecond laser processing, optical microscopy, etc.).
(2) Nanophotonic devices (meta-fibers, meta-DOEs, 2D semiconductors, perovskite photodetectors, etc).
(3) Smart equipment for industrial applications (LED lighting, AR/VR displays, micro photoactuators, chip cooling, etc.)
We are focusing on the nanophotonic frontiers and exploit their inside physical mechanisms and potential applications. We supply well-equipped platforms and sufficient funds for the young scholars and students around the world.
