On the evening of April 21st, the CHINESE LASER PRESS announced the nominees for the "Top Ten Advances in Chinese Optics 2023." Among the 20 achievements honored, "Realization and Observation of Optical Chirality Bound States in the Continuum" and "Ultrafast Laser Inkless Color Printing Technology" were awarded the nomination for "Top Ten Advances in Chinese Optics 2023" in both the basic research and applied research categories, respectively.
The ultrafast laser inkless color printing technology specifically received the nomination for "Top Ten Advances in Chinese Optics 2023" in the applied research category. A team led by Qiu Min and Shi Liping from Westlake University has developed a novel "femtosecond laser inkless color printing" technology. This technology utilizes femtosecond lasers to create micro-nano structures on ceramic films, allowing for the modulation of their absorption spectra and the achievement of controllable color effects. Prints produced using this technology boast a wide color gamut, with colors remaining consistent regardless of the observer's viewing angle, as well as excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
