Ph.D. student Xiaoguo Fang published an article in the Nanophotonics. The article is titled " Metallic photoluminescence of plasmonic nanoparticles in both weak and strong excitation regimes ".
The study delves into the intricate variations in photoluminescence observed in gold nanoparticles under varying excitation powers. Under weak excitation, the observed redshift in the photoluminescence spectrum is attributed to the temperature-dependent nature of gold's dielectric constant. In states of strong excitation, the spectrum conforms to a trajectory akin to blackbody radiation within the CIE chromaticity space. The findings culminate in the proposal that the photoluminescence mechanism of gold nanoparticles can be elucidated through greybody radiation processes.
