Ph.D. student Shang Xinggang published an article in the Advanced Photonics Research journal. The article is titled "Observation of Wide Bandwidth and Giant Chiroptical Response Empowered by Core–Shell Micro-Helixes".
This article proposed a method of achieving chiral reflection with a wide bandwidth in the mid-infrared range using core-shell 3D micro-spiral arrays. In the experiments, they optimized the post-processing process of preparing micro-spiral arrays using two-photon polymerization. At the wavelength range of 3-7 μm, the g-factor of the reflected asymmetry of the structure approaches "2", which is a 25% increase in bandwidth compared to pure metal spirals. At the same time, it has high polarization selectivity and high bandwidth."
